The hematology analyzers can alert and quantify this type of pathological reaction through new channels that separate these precursor cells from normal blood. Nucleated red blood cell populations are quantified in the NRBC channel and immature granulocytic elements in the IMI channel. Blasts presence must be confirmed by light microscopy.
